Capsule Geology

The area of the Corrie showing is underlain by lower Permian limestone of the Stikine Assemblage near the eastern margin of a granitic stock of the Paleocene to Eocene Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite.

The 1990 work program discovered skarn type mineralization towards the southern portion of the claim close to where the Eocene intrusion is mapped.

A sample of felsic dike that contacts skarn mineralization with molybdenite and galena assayed 0.16 per cent copper, 3.17 per cent lead, 0.55 per cent molybdenum, 197.1 grams per tonne silver and 12.96 grams per tonne gold (Sample 90G COR-X10, Assessment Report 21680).

About 100 metres south of sample X10 a sample of limestone with pyrite, malachite and chalcopyrite in an 8 by 10 metre gossanous area yielded 2.98 per cent copper, 15.5 grams per tonne silver and 0.28 gram per tonne gold (Sample 90G COR-X13, Assessment Report 21680).

In 1990, a program of prospecting and sampling by C. Basil was conducted on the Corrie claim during which 26 rock samples and 1 silt sample were collected.
